Pictures are coming out dark and really pixelly. HELP!!!

I am not what you would call a camera whiz or anything, but I must have changed a setting, unbeknownst to me and now all of my pictures are coming out dark and really pixelly, if the subject is more than 5 feet from my camera. What did I do? I don't know settings at all and this camera was given to me from a family member.

What camera mode are you in? If you see a green "Auto" on the mode dial, I suggest you turn it to that.

Verify the Exposure Compensation hasn't been changed.

I actually figured it out. I just reset the settings the Two-Button Reset thing. Thank you all though!

One time I accidently did that and thought I was formatting the card but it turns out I reset the whole camera. That's what sleep deprivation does to you haha.

I bet that it was in auto ISO mode and it was jacking the iso up crazy high.
