I'm still learning lighting on portraits myself so I'm no help in that department however I think these are very nice. What a cute baby! #2 is definitely my favorite. I just love that one!!! : )

Your main light (or key light), the one on the left is too low and a bit too far behind your subjects. Also, the focal legnth is rather short, exagerating the size of the people.

should I move his head up?

Maybe a bit. I think more would be gained if you cropped from the bottom to remove the large white area in the fold of his sleve. Maybe clone it out.

which do you like better?

Oh, the expression is the first is a winner! Just look at those eyes. I like the wider mat too.
