"Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie" is a line from the traditional English nursery rhyme "Sing a Song of Sixpence". The rhyme has various interpretations, some suggesting it's a coded message used by pirates. Some believe it was a way for Blackbeard and his crew to recruit members, with the "blackbirds" representing the crew, the "pie" being the ship, and "singing" being the surprise attack on another ship.


Other interpretations suggest it's a whimsical story of a pie with live birds inside.
