Pileated tearing it up

I caught this guy bashing away at my tree and caught a piece of wood flying away.

I've been trying for years to get a decent shot!! I was sitting outside and heard the banging. When I saw what the noise was from, I ran inside and grabbed by camera. I took a bunch but I'm pretty sure this is the best one. He didn't give me many chances to see his eyes and I have lots of shots of his back...

Despite being so big, they are typically very shy and always flew away when I got my camera.
This one was bashing away and didn't mind that I was under him.
