Playing w/ f stop - another baby pic

I've been spending time w/ camera and baby, but it seems that only 1 out of 20 pictures or so isn't blurry. I'm not even 100% sure about this one. It seems focused, but I don't love the way the eyes look.

I'm also having a problem with indoor lighting - the picture seems focused until I adjust the levels, and then it seems OOF... why would that be??? (Maybe I'll do a before and after thread).
