This lens seems well suited to near shots in that it will focus as close as 0.3m/1'. Here are a couple wildflower shots I took today.

I hate to ever say anything bad about your shots, Ron, but there is definately something afoot in the yellows. In pic 2 they're clipped to the point of looking pasted in. Could this be a characteristic of the lens? I've never seen that in any of your other shots that I can remember.

Yellows are always a ***** & to boot my camera tends to blow highlights. In # 2 the focus was on the orange flowers & the yellows were not in the same field & thus slightly OOF. Perhaps this explains what you see.
