Please critique Orange county coastline

Just a shot I took yesterday I liked the swirls of current in the ocean but I don't like the hazy skyline. I cropped most of it out but for composition and not cutting off cliffs I had to leave some. I'm a newbie so if you get real technical I may have to ask. Thanks-

This is an interesting perspective, but it is not one I personally would have chosen. For me, there is too much homes and trees in the foreground - the grey house tends to dominate the image and draws the viewers eye away from the shoreline. I think I would have tried to find a perspective that allowed me to shoot more of the shoreline with less of the suburban element, but that is just me.

- as above. taken like this it's a fine tourist's snapshot
- think more about composing the scene. What do you want/need in the foreground?
- choose a different time of the day. Observe light and how colors are changing in relation to the time of the day

Thank you WesternGuy and Maria. Now that I take a second look I totally agree. Maybe a real Estate agent can use the shot to sell that house below. Yes it was mid day and I try not to shoot when the sun is so high but I just finished surfing and I guess I should have shot then surfed but the waves were good. I will keep those points in mind Maria. Thanks again-
