What's new

Please look at these pictures..

Are you shooting in JPEG? Thats probably your problem. The camera cannot adjust things perfectly everytime. Its all guess work. Start shooting in Raw and adjusting the colors/brightness/contrast yourself in photoshop or with ACR/Lightroom.

Auto with the 7D can be... difficult, especailly with the focus point. Both images look a bit soft (not sharp). You need to pick the right place to focus on. With the 7D in Auto you get several focus points, but I have noticed issues with getting focused on the area I want. I tend to avoid the auto mode as much as possible.

Shoot several images. I have found with a simple lean in our back or move into another direction the focus points change a lot. take the image from place, move to another and shoot again. Maybe in front and then a step to the right or left of it. shoot away.

It's a good idea to watch some videos on youtube for the 7D if you want to use it. It's definitely not a beginners camera for sure. It's a semi-pro model with tons of features. Shooting auto with a 7D is wasting a great item.

I do have a problem getting the camera to focus where I want it.. I will try the leaning back and forth.

I shoot in jpeg form. I will switch to raw or shoot in both for a while.

Those cakes were not plated well. I think the names could have been placed better...

Thanks for all the kids words and encouragement.. I will get it.. I will, I will, I will..

Hun, Why are you still shooting in Auto? I'll send you my copy of Understanding Exposure if it will help. You just have to forget about the Auto mode in return.

Aww, thanks.. you are so sweet.. I have that book.:blushing: I also have Canon 7D for dummies, and some other that I can't recall the name right now.

I still use auto because I like to have pictures for memories. So, I do try to take some, then take it out of auto... This past week has been frustrating for me. I took my camera to Disneyland and Legoland.. Then forgot how to change the ISO,---
