You'll find out that as a newbie people will gravitate to many online sources for knowledge. As you gain more and more knowledge you'll soon find out some of that information is off-based or just totally wrong (or even made up from other online info). Such names a Rockwell and Northrup come up in that sense.

What have they made up (asking as a non expert) or got wrong? I have no axe to grind btw, I am just curious.

Thank you. I am 100% agree on this one. Thats why I created this topic so I can just only watch them and see if I can trust them and learn from them. I was in other hobby for over 20 yrs and got to the point that I have good enough knowledge plus many sponsorships for that hobby. As many newbie or even sponsor person in that hobby posted/answer the questions on that forum were not even true.

By the way, I am not talking about Ken R, or other photographers on this post. It was my experienced with my other hobby.

I like Tony Northrup

He purposefully and specifically gives misleading/false/controversial information to increase traffic to his site/videos.

So you need to tread lightly with him. His actual photography/photoshop tips are fine, but given the crap he spews in-between, it's best to avoid him as "a photographer you can trust"

Ive never had a problem with him, his videos are pretty well put together.

The fact that he tries to go too in depth and create controversy is what get ls people rowed up. Its kind of like the DoF thread currently on this board. You wont understand or care about them videos in the beginning anyway.

I have worked with many people who are much better at putting you to sleep than him, you are so lucky if you think he is bad!!!
