Plow Truck

my wife's grandparents old plow truck. Aparently this honey still runs.
I dont like how the roof came out.
How could I have gotten more detail of the tin roof and and not gotten a white blur without making the picture come out too dark?

fire that thing up and lets see some of that year old black some!

i don't know how to get the roof like that. maybe a polarizing filter (though i don't know how good they work for killing reflections on metal)
