I just pulled this off of my buddies blog.

"It looks like Amazon is going to be putting the PocketWizard Radio Transmitter for Nikon and Pocket Wizard Transceiver For Nikon TTL Flashes on as a "Lightning Deal" tomorrow around 11 a.m. Central time for me. You can see the future Photo & Video Lightning Deals here: Amazon.com: Today's Deals"

They are already 200 plus they will probably be taking off an additional 20-30% he says which means it could possibly be a REALLY good deal (So im hoping)

Anyways would you guys all reccomend these for off camera flash? Just curious for different opinions.

I have 2 FlexTT5's and 1 Flex Mini. I use them a lot, like several times a week. I love them and while it was a pricey purchase at the time, I feel I have gotten my money's worth. I do like the TTL flexibility. I don't always use it but I like that it's there. I've had a random misfire here and there but nothing that would make me question the validity and durability of the system. In fact, I'd say it was more the recycle time from the flash. I'd say go for it if it is 30% off.

There are some members who have experience with third party brands so hopefully they can give you some info on those brands.

Pocket Wizards are pretty much the 'industry standard' when it comes to flash triggers. The TTL models are still pretty new and not completely bug-free but people do seem to like them.

If you don't need the TTL functionality, then you can save money by going with the cheaper Pocket Wizard Plus II units...or another brand of trigger. I use Cyber Sync triggers and they have been great for me.

I have never had a failure with the PWs.... and the range is phenomenal! The TTL rocks when you can use it... really works well! I highly recommend these units. :)

I rented this once and loved them... they worked great... I own though a third party brand and they are always misfiring and no ttl so I'm looking into these

Thanks for the heads up! I just snagged another Nikon TT5.. really good deal @ $50 off every unit..
