Point and Shoot Replacement

I need a good replacement for my D70 when just in case anything happens to it--as per the shutter issue is getting more frequent. Do you guys think the Nikon P5000 is a good replacement? I was also looking at the Canon A640 and the SD800. I just cant get over the hotshoe, which I would use at work all the time of I chose to get the P5000.
