Settings that interfere with EOS Utility remote shooting?

I have a Canon R50, but have this same issue with my older T5. I get erratic responses when triggering the shutter from my computer. I also use Wemacro software and frequently get missed images, often a series of missed images. Are there any camera settings that might interfere with shutter responses?

I have Canon R5, R5 Mark2 and have had no problems using my android phone
and Canon Connect V3.5 to remotely take photos with either camera.
