If someone could please answer a few questions please.
#1 Do professional product photographers use a photo tent?
#2 Do professional product photographers normally use polarized gel screens.
#3 what does a professional product photographer use for lighting.
It has been suggested to me that I use a polarized gel sheet between my soft box and my subject Custom made pool cues.
I have glare problem, and the exotic wood grain is being glared out.
I am using a cheap 3300w continuous florescent cowboy studio lighting kit, yes I understand cowboy is also a cuss word.
My large soft boxes are 24x30 . The polarized gel sheets are only 17in wide. My soft boxes are to wide so it looks like I need to buy some soft boxes that are no more than 17 inches wide.
One thing that bothers me is I cannot be the only one in the world using polarized gel sheets for photography.
Am I the only one who is trying to use polarized gel sheets with continuous lighting.
Because I get the feeling I should be using flash or strobes.
Right now my pictures are soft . shutter speeds are 3 sec plus.
Would this be the best time to buy some strobes or flash units. I have one ex 580 2 that I haven't ever used, but if I need to buy a different soft box should it be for a strobe or use the soft light fixtures that I have now.
