Some pony scurry action from the Suffolk Show 2024!
All taken with a 70-200mm f2.8 IS LMII and R6MII

Action shots themselves were some fairly heavy crops - the 70-200mm is a fantastic performing lens, but challenged with reach. I could have done with a little more to properly full the frame and really capture those expressions.

Also I want them to all start using solid disk wheels to hide that they look static when shot at high speed - cause slow shutter speed photography is tricky with panning (though I think next time I get a chance I'll try a lot more of it, esp when at longer ranges away from the action).

As always any critiques/opinions are most welcome.

I see what you're saying about those wheels - but I'm not sure I'd have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it. ;) Those cute hardworking ponies and the intense expressions of the drivers get the attention.

Very nice shooting - what a fun event! I don't think we have "scurries" over here. *sniffle*

Thanks all :)

And yeah even in the UK its honestly not common. A lot of carts/scurries and such have steadily dwindled over the years. Not as easy to get the open land and the roads are ever more full of cars, lorries and the like. But there's still enough that they make a good appearance at the larger shows which is great to see
