Portable Hard Drive

I know this isn't specifically a piece of photography equipment, but I know a lot of people on here are great with computers. I just got a LaCie hard drive, and it's not showing up under my computer, but is being recognized by my PC. I read in the manual that it needs to be re-formatted to show up in windows, but I don't know how to format something I can't see...any help?

First make sure the Lacie disk appears and is recognized by Windows.

right mouse click on My computer -> manage computer.
select device manager
Check to make sure the lacie disk is listed

Next is to partition or reformat the whole thing

right mouse click on my computer -> manage computer
select disk management
Right mouse click on partitition -> format.

I'm doing this from memory.. as I only have access to a Mac at the moment.

Thanks for the help but I can see it under the device manager, but when I go to disk management, I can't see it with the rest of the drives. :banghead:
