Last weekend, I met "Lulu" for the first time, the latest addition to my friend's family from only three days before. I had travelled to see them all because it was my friend's oldest son's (= my god-child's) Confirmation Day and I took a good many portraits of the guests and of the event (which I don't dare to put up here for privacy reasons), enjoying once again the possibilities of my 300mm lense. And when "Lulu", the little dog, came to sit on someone's lap for a while, I took that chance to also take some dog portraits.

Personally, I am quite happy with the results:

I love the DOF here, it really centres the focal point on the dog, and doesn't distract the viewer. His hair is lovely and soft as well, and I love his expression in the first picture.

I would be happy too. The dog seems to feel very confident in sitting on laps.

the shots turned out pretty well... I like the backgorund colour very different from the dog

Yes, I like the background, too. It is part of their sunlit lawn. These were totally unposing photos, never intended to become dog portraits, only was "Lulu" sitting on my friend's brother's lap and the children actually all milled around them to pet "Lulu"... and I used what chances I had to get these photos.
