Portrait Photography Tips

Hi folks I have treated my self to the Fuji XF 90mm f2 as I want to start getting in to portraits and head shots. I have never taken any sort of portraits at all in the years I have used cameras, camera I will be using is the X-T2 with the XF 90mm plus if I am also using the X-T20 with the XF 35mm f2. Is there ant tips or advice you kind folk could give, I normally shoot in Full Manual mode too. All images I will take will be outside too.

First, I'm not a pro, but it's hard to suggest anything when you say you shoot in full manual, you obviously understand the triangle. What specifically isn't happening for you?

Thank you, I got the tips I needed, so have been shooting in Aperture mode as then I can use the EC to help.
