Portrait practice...

I took my daughter out (actually bribed) for more practice..

She is beautiful! I find the dead space on the left to be distracting...and I might have framed it a bit higher up on her arm, closer to where the length of her hair ends...but that's just me. Love the light though!

For what it's worth, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the photograph when I first opened the thread.
You balanced the ambient light very well, and the focus appears to be spot on. I also like pose, but am not 100% sure of the framing. While I believe it would be a no go if she were looking forward, her glance now gives some room to have a void behind her, but it'd probably be better if there was a more appealing background.
All in all, good job.

I don't mind the background, but I would trim off that sliver of sky.

It's kinda amazing what happens when you remove that irregular top edge.

I agree: I think you handled the light really well. The exposure is really nice, and you've done a very good job of flattering your subject. Of course, your subject looks pretty easy to flatter

I do think the composition of the shot could stand some improvement. Here's a 30 second edit to re-frame and add vignette.

It looks like she has been brightened by use of the Dodge tool?

If that's the case, I would be careful of not making her too bright, otherwise it almost looks like she doesn't belon to the background - like she was pasted into the scene.

It makes her look as if she has a glowing halo around her.

I do like this photo. The background is pleasently un-distracting background while still being recognizable. It's not just generic background blur.

Looks awesome, I recognize her and this looks 100x better than what I remember. Now when people ask you to shoot pictures, this is the time of day to do it!

Her facial expression is good. Good eye contact but the head turn is ruining it. With her body fully side ways it is causing folds in her neck and the pose look unnatural and uncomfortable. Have her turn her body more to the right and this will prevent this from occurring and make the pose look more natural.

The crop is much better too.

Personally I would desaturate the yellows in the background a little bit, they are a bit on the radioactive looking side for my taste. Otherwise good job.

Beautiful picture, nice job. Crop issue has been address, other than that I would try to remove some of the stray hair. very nice light
