I think you have too shallow of DOF. One of her eyes in focus while the rest of the other side of the face is not in focus. I would open up to get more in focus.

I think your best is the black and white one, but it seems your processing is all over the place. I would study a little more about composition as well. But not a bad start.

I agree. The originals are sharp and clear. Could you suggest a better alternative then Picassa? I am on a very tight budget... Free is best for me atm.

Sure Mark, ...Flickr (free) will do up to 1024 pixels long side... a lot of us use it!

imo 2 has too much dead space, but it works in the third one.
