I'm always trying to educate myself from the greats and one of my heroes is portrait photographer, Richard Avedon. So I'm trying to recreate the nuance and joy from one of my favorite portraits of his of Marlon Brando. I'd highly recommend doing this for anyone else for improving their approach and skill. The exercise completely broke me out of my go-to habits in a portrait session. My goal wasn't for an exact emulated match but an homage to the spirit of the original, seen here http://alturl.com/8tnne

Thanks for sharing. I have never heard of him before.

Thanks, glad you like it. Avedon is a giant, you'd like this documentary, it was highly influential on me beginning to end. Anyone interested at all in portraiture should take a look. Have fun.
