What I see right off the bat is that the wind was blowing and the bow on her dress was pretty much right in the way... ?? what else?

The shutter speed is too slow for the focal lenght you are using, as a rule shutter speed should match focal length and then factor in 1.5x for sensor size eg. 105mm should be 1/160 minimum unless you have a VR lens

Very cute kid. I think that the focus fell on his forehead/hair. What was your setting?

Its seems a little OOF as mentioned before. I agree with the crop comment, as well. If you were zoomed out a little more it would give the picture a lot more character and allow the viewer to focus on the face as a whole, rather than aspects of the face.
