Pretty Pretty Butterflies

[NayLoMo6C]

Went to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco yesterday and took some pics of some butterflies. Used my friend's D50 with his kit 18-55 lens. Tell me what you think

pretty. Butterflies can be difficult to capture, their ability to hold a pose sucks

[Davor]

they sure are hard to get a photo of, i still haven't got close to any one of them.

you got that right..

do you think the colors are saturated correctly?

The colors are fine, but i think your focus was a bit off in the last one.

yeah you're right, couldn't get the darn lens to focus quick enough before it flew away

they look fine on my monitor

#1: here the butterfly appears not well focused; but the thing is that as a whole the image is very impressive

Look, you keep your object always at the centre; it is a natural human tendency to do so while capturing; i too am not able to do otherwise if not did it with caution. so i trim them from side to make OOC.

In the last one, don't you think the green is dominating and distracting? especially since the b/f has dark wings?

Yet i like these images; the bokeh seems fine
