Yashica 44 TLRs always seem to be around. I like the gray version--very chic!

The little Yashicas are much-loved by my toy camera mates. The sprocket holes are a love/hate conundrum especially for prints. Still, not half-bad optics, small size, WLF, whisper-quiet operation and sub-med school surgical skill for DIY repair are selling points. For a cheap camera, that late Fifties Japanese build quality is striking. Way more classy than a Diana/Holga swaddled in gaffer's tape. Forget any period built-in or accessory snap-on meter for accuracy. Most of us pack the capable little Sekonic 308 meter, though a few border-line dorks insist on the retro Sekonic 398 Studio Deluxe(BTW deadly accurate short of low-light work). An obvious retro fashion indulgence but great fun if you can land a good '44 cheap!
