Printers for Photos?

hello,

im looking into purchasing a new printer which i will use to print photos only. So i will need a printer thats cheap but yet also gives good high quality photo prints. Can anyone give some personal recommendations? Thanks

we use the epson 4800 pro at school but thats like $2000 but check out the epson stylus 1500 i hear good things

I quit doing inkjet prints when i bought my Epson R260.

I try to do Lightjet prints as much as possible now.

My opinion...

A cheap photo inkjet will be less useful than an online printing service (Mpix for example). Image quality as well as archival properties will be far from ideal.

With that said, I'm a big fan of Epson. Currently happy with my Epson 2200.

yeah i have this printer and i use it mainly to print photos. its cheap and gets the job done well. the prints look nice but i would mainly use them for critique. if you are going to display your image at a gallery i would use Mpix or another site for quality prints.

the HD printers i think go up to 13x24 at reasonable prices. after 8x10 mpix starts getting on the pricy side.
