Printing date on pictures

Hi there,

My colleagues and I would like to print the date on photographs for printing out (for sake of documenting things done) -just like the old "databack" cameras of 10 years ago.

Is there any free software that will let you automatically do this ? Or is it a case of doing it manually ?

Most digital cameras will do that when the shutter release is pushed, if the feature is turned on in the menus.

What brand and make of camera are you using?
Edit; Looks like most cameras will do that.

If yours won't it can be done with freeware like the open source, GIMP image editing softwware,
