Problems retrieving RAW images....

i can get all of the .jpg images off my camera, but the raw images wont download.
Canon XTi using the eos utility downloading directly from camera.
i know, i should get a card reader but that wont be an option for about 2 weeks.
but when i go to download, it shows that it is downloading, but then when it completes it opens up the photo editor, but then it shows no pictures, i look in the folder that it was supposed to be put in but theres nothing.
