Product Photography Ideas?

Our next photography project requires us to pick any sort of product and shoot it in studio. I'm not really sure what to do, since I've never done it before. Any tips or ideas for things to shoot w/black or white background?

toys lol....figurines to be specific....does it have to be black or white background?

yeah our photography is all in b&w ... we can choose either a black or white background.

yeah in that case. figurines. lenses. camera bodies. computer mice (i.e. razer mice. the stylistic ones be it from them or microsoft just not the boring ones) im biased towards mechanical and figurine style objects lol
