Hi all,
I'm a graphic designer and photographer for company who's currently asking me to photograph their line of products, so I'm currently researching lighting equipment. The products are primarily 10inch tall plastic bottles (with a glossy label wrapped around it) to 3inch tall bottles.
They're only willing to spend about $1,000 - $2,000 for equipment, so I wanted to get some opinions from those of you with experience. I'm considering one of those table top box/tent but wasn't sure of adequate lighting for it.
Or even a pair of inexpensive strobes or soft boxes. As photographers we're all aware of the tug of war between quality vs price, so I'd love to hear your thoughts and considerations on this. Of course they're looking for commercial quality images, so I'm trying to figure out how to achieve this without going over budget.
On a side note I'm also researching lenses for my Canon. Thinking of either the TS45 or a short Marco (as the room I'm shooting in is only about 25 ft by 25 ft. Any general advice on shooting and lighting techniques would also mean a lot to me. But lets have this be an after thought as opposed to the lighting gear.
