Product review template/form?

I think it would be a great addition to the site if we could have a more robust product review section. A place where people could submit their reviews using a standard template and or form.

Such as

Brand:
Category:
Compatibility:
Rating:
Review:
Pros:
Cons:
Summary:

Sounds like it might be helpful, if you mean you'd rather folks submitted reviews following this kind of punch list of things to cover, rather than just offer up a paragraph to assess items. Is that what you're suggesting? We could add it as a sticky for people to copy & paste into a new thread.

Yes, a form based review. Fill in the blank etc.. That way you can keep thing consistent.

I wonder if it could be combined into a searchable thread?

Users could title their post with the product name within the thread and it provides a clear archive of reviews in an organised and similar fashion. Course it does cut down on commentary upon those reviews and the only way to counter a review is to post your own.

I don't know the specifics on the vbulletin software but once you have a defined value i.e. brand or make, it makes adding it into a database very simple.

Maybe have a rating system attached to reviews? Was this review helpful, that sort of thing. Or even comments.

I don't know if it's possible, but is it possible to have a 1 person poll, for the creator of the thread, to vote on 1 - 5 what they think of the product.
Then when searching, it will average out the rating per product? haha good luck
