For me, the large dark tree in the upper right dominates the composition. I know you prefer 3:2, but this really would work better if you cropped 1/2 - 2/3 of that tree. Or go back and turn the camera a little to the left or get a little closer.

It's heavy, I see that. But...I don't know...I like the way chapels go down in height as long as they are closer to the big tree for perspective...

I see what you like about it yourself but I think that sometimes we get attached in ways to our pics and we then dont see what other see, does that make sense? I think it has potential but I too think that big tree is too much. BTW I do not mean to imply that your view on this pic is anyway wrong but that I think its good if we try to look at it with fresh eyes.

given this is hallowed ground the tree may have its own story to tell... its amazing when I read comments then really notice something that did not even feature before the comment was made. I like the trees (the damp leaves on the ground give additional peace to the scene) also and they are part of this place but I understand that this may affect balance...not the sort of place to wander around on a dark night...

Nice Benjo, but I see what the others are saying. That big black tree is hard not to notice. But at the end of the day, it's your photo and your vision.

I agree with all of you. Tried also different crops, but...couldn't find the right one. May be a missed chance for me. :\

What about something like this?

It balances the tree on the left, gives the chapels the scale you like, and is less distracting than the original...
