Proudphotography.com. This is an add on this site advertising an online beginner photography course. Anyway i would love to hear from anyone who has done or is doing it.
Would you recommend it?

Any others out there people would recommend?

I don't recommend it. There is so many useful infomration than you can find on-line without paying for it. For example:

http://web.canon.jp/imaging/enjoydslr/

I used those when I was learning (I'm still learning) about photography and they helped me a lot. You can find many more web sites than will help you with that, without spending $$$ for it.

Other option is to find some photography classes in local park discrict, community college etc, if you want classes with instructor.
