PS CS5 RAW file not working?!?!

Hiya, opened up Photoshot CS5 and went to import a few photos and they wont import down to being RAW file. Anyone know why?!

Has it worked in the past? Have you recently changed anything (camera, computer, software)? Windows or Mac? Is your system up-to-date?

Where are the raw files from?

My guess guess I that the raw files come from a device that was released after Adobe stopped updating the raw support for the older version of photoshop you are using.

I've only just shot RAW a couple of days ago and tried to import today and it's not working. Haven't changed anything, system is Windows

Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras

You need Camera Raw 6.4 to open Nikon D5100 .NEF (Raw) files. CS 5 uses ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) 6 so you probably need to update your CS 5.
CS 5 cannot be updated beyond ACR 6.x.

To update.
Open CS 5.
On the Applications bar click on Help > Update. Follow the prompts.

FWIW - Raw is not an acronym like JPEG is, or TIFF is. So only the first letter gets capitalized.

JPEG = Joint Photographic Expert Group
TIFF = Tagged Image File Format.
