I bought a small Speedball UV light from Dick Blick. It's 30 watts and 395-400nm.

What sort of exposure times will I need for cyanotypes? I just need an estimate to get me started and I can fine tune it from there.

Also, how much time should I add if I'm using paper negatives, instead of film or digital negatives?

Thanks, David.

Hi David - welcome to TPF! :)

I personally don't do cyanotypes so I'm no help here. @bulldurham has been doing beautiful work lately, so hopefully when he logs in he can give you some pointers.

Feel free to post anything you've been working on, in the meantime. Have fun!

I use a Stouffer Step Wedge which is essentially what the video demonstrated in a home made version. Either or will work though keep in mind that there is a significant difference in exposure times with different chemistries, papers and the quality of the water.
