Question on focus stacking?

If i brought a camera that has built in focus stacking, does the camera join these all together in camera or do you need an editing subscription as well?

I don't do stuff all editing and paying hundreds of dollars for 1 and 3 year stints isn't worth it. Id rather just find a CD ROM for the old laptop top but im not computer savvy and i dont know what old CD ROM software includes focus stacking in it?

Just want to be able to focus stack fungi. Cheers...

I'd say "built-in" means it performs the task in-camera.

If not, there's plenty of free focus-stacking apps.

My Lumix cameras have in-built focus stacking ... does 21 images and merges them into a single image
(the 21 comes from the 21 focus points across the screen)
Mostly is works okay - but sometimes there is an occasional mis-register of edges

They install like any other app. Given they're free, it doesn't cost anything to try them to see if they produce the results you're looking for.

Cheers Mr, I'll save this programs name aswell for when/if i get around to trying focus stacking. I bought a focusing rail a couple of years ago but im really lazy in spending any time in using it.

I can't sit still long enough to do things, can't even watch a whole tv program these days...

ADHD i think.
