Resin, thanks for the info. I have read a little about the conversion, and with CS3 it's supposed to be great, I am going to try it when I get off work.

I thought that the taking a shot in B&W on the camera provided an edge vs. the color conversion. Are there any benefits of letting the camera decide?

No, never let the camera decide. Its always beneficial to you as the shooter to have the most control over your shot, and that would be getting excellent tonal ranges in color and then converting them in an editing program to your liking.
