IMO, it's much too dark for a little girl, and you should have taken the shot at eye level.

Yeah I agree with the previous comment, I mean B&W is one thing but this is too dark, play with the shadows and contrast. I also wouldn't cut off the head, some pro's do it for effect reasons but in this case I don't think it's the best option.

focus is very sharp on the eyes, and that's where i think the color would have really made the photo "pop" with the big colorful eyes as the focal point.
