Quickest way to improve your photos?

Know your equipment. Yes, the manuals suck but there are good manuals (Magic Lantern) for many camera bodies. The time to try to figure out how to do something with your camera is not while the event is unfolding in front of you.

My idea - photography meetups - you get to learn from other photographers, shoot talented models, and gain a lot of insights from better photographers.

There is no quick way. Study light, learn how it affects everything, and spend the next 40 years working at it.

There is some merit to attending meetup events. When I wanted to pursue shooting models, that's what I did. I was able to find a pro who hosted workshops and shootouts and I learned a ton from him. BUT, there are also a lot of GWC's that attend who don't know Jack Schitt and to a new photographer that can be more harm than good.
