I really like the composition and the bokeh of the background lights. The only thing I would say is that maybe there's some (I hope I have the term right) chromatic aberration in some of the bokeh.

The shapes and forms come through at full size, but when I view the image at low res, it's hard to see that it's a star, because I can't see the upper left on the ornament. Maybe you could shop one of those background lights over there to give it some separation.

Also I like the way you have the bokeh lights sort of clustered together. That really comes through in the thumbnail.

Nice capture!

Thanks KD. I like your idea, there is a place for a tea light at the base of the star-tree. Well that's my after dark, well after the Kentucky Basket Ball game.

I love this!! Gets my holiday juices flowing. Love the hue's in this image.

I like it but, for me, bokeh should complement a subject and not compete with it. Here I'm not sure what it is you want me to look at, the star or the lights.

I think it's good just the way it is. He's got a dichotomy of lights in the background and an unlighted metal sculpture in the foreground. They are working quite well together, yet there is no doubt as to which takes precedent because the metal sculpture is in focus, and in the foreground. Meanwhile, the background lights are arranged in a nicely balanced composition and the sculpture is not centered, lending some dynamism.

Well, after having written all of that, I'm going to go on ahead and nominate it for POTM, December, 2014.
