Thats as good a reason as any, having grown up around the center of Oklahoma's Little Italy it would pretty much be sacrilege for me to eat any jar sauce from a store. Especially one as bad as Ragu which ironically is as far from a good ragu as one can get. But then again when you grow up watching it take all day to make gravy... Then just about anything out of a jar is a poor substitute, you might as well be putting ketchup on your pasta. The only exception was the Marinara my grandmother would can herself.

I admit I have used a jar or two in my time, but in my defense I only married into an Italian family. I grew up in Montana and the only red sauce on your plate is the blood from the medium rare steak.

Apparently enough that he is adept at making spaghetti at his young age. Mom and dad have an Italian chef in the making if they keep up their intimacy with unlocked doors. Next thing you know the lad will be making his own gnocchi and ravioli from scratch. Course he might weigh 450 before its over with, and associate sex and food like George Costanza but that's all good. If he asks for a pasta press at Christmas they might want try to figure out whats going on.
