This photo was taken during sunset at Lake Louise, Alberta in Banff National Park. Due to the drought in western Canada this summer, there were many forest fires covering massive areas. Because of this, sometimes the sky would be filled with brilliant pastel colours making it feel like you are in an oil painting.

The photo is not digitally altered, some smoke rolled through the area, blended with the clouds and the setting sun did the rest!

Remarkable! OOPS- nominated for POTM, but needs to go into November, not October.

Hmmmm, not your usual trickery but awesome just the same. Nice!

Really beautiful! Is that a hotel in the fist one? Have you offered to sell them a print?

Very beautiful! Glad you took the time to capture this unusual sky. The one including the hotel seems tailor made to turn into a large print in their lobby. ;)

Why don't we see the sky reflected in the lake?

Just one uniform green color, no sunset colors.

Why is that?
