I took some pics of my neighbors baby and want to give them a cd. Could I transfer my raw images onto a cd or do I need to save them as jepg?

If you want your neighbor to see the images you'll need to process the raw files into jpegs.

Convert to Jpeg, the most likely wont have a program capable of viewing RAW.

Unless your neighbor has the ability to open/edit raws, you'll need to convert them to another format before burning them.

Do you have Lightroom or Aperture? If you do, import the photos you want to convert and export them in the jpeg format. I believe the exports are default to be jpeg.

Note: If you don't have either one and you'd like, I can covert them for you if you need to.

If your camera is capable of recording raw files, it should have come with the software needed to convert it.

What do you use to view your raw files?

You can also put the photos on a CD as TIFF files, and several other files types.

But, JPEG is the most commonly used.

You should have a CD with your camera that has a tool which will let you convert RAW to Jpegs.

is there a way in elements 10 where you can save multiple files at once or do you have to go one by one??

I'll rock the boat here a bit and say use PNG. Everything supports it now. Better quality than JPEG. PNG takes more space, but it still takes a lot of pictures to exceed a CD. Go with DVD if that happens. And I recommend DVD over CD for ANY data now days, given that CDs are forced so cheap they are junk (using poor quality dies). DVD+R is your best medium in the round optical type.

Agreed! PNG it's 100X better over Jpeg. The quality shows especially with uploading via web.
