rb67 left hand grip problems

`Hi,
new member here...did a search and couldn't find the answer I was looking for.
I recently got a mamiya rb67 pro off ebay (love it) and then bought a left hand grip from another seller.

The trouble is, I can't seem to attach the grip correctly. I managed to finagle it on, but then the shutter release was pressed permanently, and every time I advanced the mirror, the shutter fired.

Do I need some kind of accessory? I didn't see any switches, or any way to extend the shutter release thing on the grip...any ideas?

I don't have a grip for my RB67. I found on ebay some pics of the grip and if it's the same as yours maybe you can "adjust" the distance of the piece that depresses the shutter. If yours has the two button parts that are fastened by the philips head screws, can those buttons be swapped to "adjust" the distance?
