Recent Concert

I went to a radio station Christmas concert last week and got to shoot with my new 80-200 f2.8 for the second time. What do you think?

1. Lee Dewyze the current American Idol

2. Steve Page former lead singer of Barenaked Ladies

3. Ryan Miller of Guster

4. Pat Monahan of Train

5. Again

No comments? I know they don't have that typical creative rock concert lighting, but this show was at a concert hall more accustomed to orchestras. There wasn't much mood lighting going on. So from my seat I tied to capture as much "in the moment" kind of stuff as possible.

I like em, very bright and sharp. Although, the only thing I dont like is the POV, looking up at them, but thats not something you could have prevented. But nice, I like. What gear did you use?

Nice shots. Not bad at all for your second go round with the lens. The 80-200 2.8 is my favorite. I love how light it is compared to the newer 70-200s. Can't beat the price either. It's like the AK-47 of Nikon.

Yeah the 80-200 is a sick lens. Can't wait to do some portraits with it. The body it was attached to is a D90.

Images are fine; but you should have included more speed and life by slow shutters; that would definitely have made them more vibrant...

I was hand holding the camera, so slower shutter speed wasn't really an option. If I ever end up shooting a concert with a tripod, though, I'll consider that, thanks

Maybe these guys are this expressive throughout the whole concert, but I'd guess not. You did a great job catching moments indicative of the way each performer communicates with the audience. Nice job.
