What's new

Recent fall wedding photo. Sebago Lake, ME

Like it a lot. Like I've said before, your shots are one of the bigger reasons I reconsidered my initial position of never doing weddings. This is another of those reasons.

one nit, and it's such a minor nit I wouldn't mention to anybody but a couple shooters here, who I know would realize it is just such a minor nit:

that the one guy, with the sunglasses on to the image's far right is sort of distracting, because's he's the only one that doesn't look gauze-y. My eye is drawn to him perhaps a bit more than it maybe 'should' be. He just seems a bit 'clearer' tonality wise than the rest of the image.

Thank you Franklin for the feedback. I see what you're saying about how the sunglasses guy pops out... I think that has something to do with the CoC that is created from the hot spot on his nose. I'm not quite sure how to tackle that, but I will definitely take it into consideration and try a few things. Maybe even a simple darkening of the spot would make it less "in your face."

Again, thank you for rendering your thoughts, and the kind words.

I'd maybe try a selective curves adjustment, pulling a bit of contrast out of him? That was just my first thought about how I might 'fix' it, if it needed to be 'fixed'.

Maybe I'll give it a whirl when I'm done sifting through halloween photos. :)

I would have been very pleased if that was one of mine. You captured the moment and the opportunity very nicely. This image feels "right". Can't get much better than that.

Okay, so if you have looked at any of my wedding stuff, I love me some flare and this golden haze. I love this image, and these are the types of images that my clients generally will put up on their walls in BIG OLE' canvases. It creates this dreamy effect that I really like. I generally do not pull down my blacks in my images like this because I do not want to add that extra contrast or pop. I actually want the opposite, so I will sometimes decrease my clarity slider in LR4 just a smidge to just add a touch more softness. Good job.

Thanks for your thoughts Kathy. I've seen your work In other threads and it looks nice. It's good to have others contributing to the professional gallery rather than mostly Robin, Camz, rub, and I.

I'm thinking this image would go well on the cover of the album my GF will be designing the newly weds. :)

Good PJ image! I disagree that the flare is a distraction. This is what the the bride and her parents saw as they marched down the aisle...looking into the light with the crowd that has their full attention. It's what happened during the day and at that moment, there's defintely nothing wrong with capturing that.

Great Photos Tyler! You definitely have a different look than normal wedding photography! Keep up the good work :)
