thanks for the criticism everyone, I'm a yearbook photographer for my school here, so i was sort of trying to get campus photos as well as artistic stuff, so thats why the subject in some of them isnt real interesting. As for the fire hydrant, i guess i just thought it looked nice and colorful on a really gray day. (not that it mattered, since i converted to BW anyway...)

I like #2 as well.. the top part of the building is a bit burnt tho. What software r u using?

If u r using photomatix, u can tone down the Stregth and saturation. then increase the white clip then decrease the black clip

I personally prefer colored photos for hdr but #2 did it for me
