Your speaking to an extreme newbie here, so... what exactly is a lighing modifier?? a reflector or the actual umbrella??

Anything pretty much. It can be an umbrella, reflector, a softbox, a snoot, any kind of diffusion material...

OIC thanks! as mentioined, i used two umbrellas (one for each light)

The 'ridged bra' is distorting her figure. It puts curved lines where they shouldn't be.
