Rechargeable batteries for speedlight

I have both sanyo eneloop and eneloop xx. There are newer version called Panasonic eneloop sell in bhphoto.

Why would you worry that someone might buy those batteries? I bought them and i would buy them again.

Without measuring them they last just as long as the Duracell batteries at a fraction of the cost. For the price of them that is a great deal. I don't know if they're 3800 mAh or not but i know for what i spent on them, they are worth the money...

It isn't obvious? For one, it is fraud. And two, quite low performance is promised. And three, proper batteries are rather important, and the best only cost a few more dollars (Eneloops), which is nothing over the years of life we can expect. Cost per mah might even be be similar in this case, but the satisfaction of the best performance is hard to quantify. Just one opinion, personal choices obviously vary widely.

Panasonic bought control of Sanyo, and is changing all the Sanyo names to be Panasonic now.

is considered by the US federal government as deceptive advertising part of False Advertising and Fair Trade rules and stuff .....

if they work, that's great.
But they are labeled 3800mAh just in case someone DID NOT read the ad and understand the discrepency.

but check with a commerce lawyer if you want to know specifics of why we would worry someone would buy those batteries thinking they are something that they are not. It doesn't do much in a flash. But if they also sold car batteries and they barely cranked over the engine the effect might be a bit more obvious for the owner.

Not all those ads state that the 3800 mAh is not 3800 mAh. When i bought mine they said they were 3800 mAh and i think mine are pretty close to that. Those ads that say that the batteries is not 3800 just may be different batteries.

They don't do much in a flash you say, they stand up to brand new copper top batteries at a fraction of the cost. I bought mine maybe 4 years ago and they are still going. I got them for a a little over a buck each and free shipping, great buy. Maybe the ones in those ads are not the same as mine. Anyways, i am not trying to get people ripped off. I'm just stating that for the price of what i paid and the job they do i'm quite pleased, 3800 mAh or not...
