I did a little searching but found many references for flash triggers which is not what I'm looking for. I've got a Canon 50D and plan to upgrade to a 5D II when my skills improve enough to warrant such a necessity. I'm trying to find a remote trigger for the shutter that will be compatible with both and preferably is wireless. I've heard mentions of cowboy studios. Are they a good brand? Any brands I should avoid? Should I look at Canon brand triggers or is 3rd party a better option? Any help is appreciated.
Pocket Wizard Plus II units will allow you to trigger flash or a camera remotely. You just need the correct cable to attach the receiving unit to the camera.
Phottix Cleon wireless / wired remote for the Canon 5D Mark II, 50D, Digital Rebel XSi and other Canon digital SLR cameras | Digital Photography Notes I've used mine on three Nikon bodies. I like it. Can be used wired or wireless.
