Critique? OK...What elements here initially drew you? Suspect you did pre-visualize a shot but maybe shied away from pulling it out of the posted image. For me, the monster contrast range killed it quick--blown-out hi-lites upper middle-versus-dank mid/lower right darkness. Crusty OOF bricks lower left should go. Suspect scouting the site earlier/later might cure these problems. I've done that often and been surprised by what a few hours or an overcast sky can do.

I agree with the above comments. The OOF bricks really detract in a negative way. Then the highlights stop your eyes from following the scene upwards as all detail is blown out. I think time of day was your enemy and possible if you had taken the shot from the opposite side the bricks could have been kept out of the frame easier. I might also have pulled the shadows up just a touch on the right so you can at least come close to seeing the ground to add more depth.

Time of day wasnt ideal, but this was a walk-by and I saw some promise there, but didn't have time to compose much.

Hey I always say take the shot then you can always think about "What could i do next time"... all part of our growth in photography. ... and your right time of day cant be controlled as the moment is sometimes out of our control.

Would have been a good opportunity for an exposure bracket shot, edit it in post.
